In the intricate dynamics of human relationships, infidelity leaves a trail of broken trust and silent heartbreak. The aftermath, often less discussed than the act itself, unfolds in private moments of pain and behind closed doors turned into battlegrounds. Exploring the complex interplay of emotions, the adjustment of personal boundaries, and the challenging path following the the wake of betrayal, we aim to understand not just the act of cheating, but the deep impact it has on individuals, relationships, the pursuit of forgiveness and, occasionally, redemption.

Tennessee darkwave Project More Is Not Enough addresses this grief through the release of the new song, FRAIL FLESH.

FRAIL FLESH is just a very open song about finding someone cheating and the aftermath,” says Lopez. “It’s dramatized slightly, but people have lived this reality. I’ve lived this reality. I think this is the most vulnerable song I’ve ever written.”

FRAIL FLESH walks you down an evening of feeling deeply betrayed. The lyrics depict a poignant journey of emotional turmoil and betrayal, marked by a scene of infidelity and the subsequent inner conflict. The imagery of walking, broken glass, and physical pain symbolizes the struggle and sacrifice made to overcome pain, suggesting a willingness to endure hardship for redemption or closure, possibly leading to a tragic yet profound resolution.

Listen to “FRAIL FLESH” below:

More Is Not Enough delivers a compelling fusion of intense, heartfelt tunes that evoke the spirit of iconic bands like Depeche Mode, Tuxedomoon, and Aztec Camera. Characterized by striking synth punctuations, otherworldly vocal harmonies, and lively percussion, the project charts its own distinctive musical territory.

Conceived by Pedro Lopez, a metal enthusiast, in 2008, More Is Not Enough represented a departure from his usual genre, aspiring to explore new musical landscapes. However, this new direction was not without its challenges, leading to periods of creative deadlock. Lopez temporarily returned to his metal roots, eventually relocating to Puerto Rico where his musical pursuits took a backseat to family commitments and a career at the death metal label The Artisan Era. Despite a decade-long hiatus from songwriting, Lopez never fully abandoned the project. Now reimagined as a solo endeavor, More Is Not Enough re-emerges with a fresh blend of darkwave and dream pop elements, marking the latest evolution of M.I.N.E’s sound.
