[dropcap]We[/dropcap] at Post-Punk.com are very saddened to hear of the passing of Stephen Huss, who was an original member of the synth project Psyche.
“My beautiful genius little brother played his last melody over the weekend”, Darrin Huss wrote today
In late 1981, brothers Darrin and Stephen Huss and their schoolmate Dwayne Goettel (who would later go on to join Skinny Puppy) performed for the first time as Psyche in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Psyche was and is to this day a pioneering act in the dark synth and electronic music in Canada, and Europe—and together the Huss brothers released 5 studio albums and various singles, before Darrin relocated to Europe to continue with Psyche, while Stephen remained in Ontario—later releasing 3 solo albums.
Oh hearts go out to Darrin, and the rest of Stephen’s family.
